caught by my sleep doc

Post by brucelegs » Thu May 20, 2010 9:58 pm

Had my first annual visit with the sleep doc. My original pressure was set to 4 - 10. After learning so much here I tweaked it to 8 - 11. My DME had read the card about 6 months ago and said nothing about the adjustment so I fugured the doc would not catch it either - I was wrong. " Did I send in a prescription change? I had you at 4 -10" Dasm ! I kind of hemmed and hawed, mumbling stuff about ramping, times , etc. and finally told him I made the adjustments myself after seeing some of the nightly results. "You know how to do that?" yep got the software too.

He was impressed that I have only missed one night when I spent a night away and brought the machine but not the mask. These doctors should pay ME for being such an intelligent patient!

Thanks to everyone here I am EMPOWERED !!!!!

I also had a nice first visit with my diabetes endocrinolologist - another empowering visit just diagnosed with type 2 a month ago

congrats/ Hope yr doctor learn something new: why not to set a pressure of 4 cm H2O
He should try @4 cm H2O himself first

It's too bad the type II, isn't as easy to control as the Sleep Apnea. Jim

It will be once I get the carbs figured out -- one day they spike my blood glucose, the next they don't ... I will get it figured out

Sounds like you are moving right along!

change can be good!

OMG i thought I LOVED that pressure at four, must be a newbie thing.... or a shallow breather thing..

neither of which i plan to be much longer!

good luck on the type two diabetes, you no doubt will be as proactive.. good on you!

Nothing to figure out ... stop eating them.

Get yourself a copy of Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Some times I wish I knew how to set the settings on my cpap, but I'm sorry about your type 2 diabetes. I've had it for two years and my sister was just diagnosed. I'm a member of the forum on diabetes.org site and I'm on there as my self. I have a Mariners avatar on my post. I had been a member for 2 years before they changed the whole thing around and lo and behold I had to rejoin!!! I was so mad. I don't like the new forums at all, but I 'm finding my way around ok. Any way,I think sleep apnea is easier to control. I just use my cpap at night and when ever I take a nap. Well take care and have a great day., Huggies, Fay
