Whistling sound in RemStar Pro without humidifier

Post by dianem » Sat Mar 20, 2010 8:36 am

I am leaving on a business trip this afternoon and am not planning to bring the humidifier unit since I don't really use it anyway. I decided to test the machine without it last night, and I'm glad I did. There is an unbearable whistling, whooshing sound that comes from the air outlet -- it doesn't seem to be sealing. I couldn't sleep at all, eventually just gave up.

Is there something I can do to seal the air outlet to keep it from whistling? If not, I'll just bring the darn humidifier with me, but I'd prefer not to. I've already detached and reattached it a couple of times to see if perhaps I had done it wrong, but so far that isn't helping.

Thanks.

I think there should have been an adapter with your machine to plug the hose into when not using the humidifier. Haven't used it but I have one.

Yes, that's what seems to be making the noise (you can't plug the hose in at all without it, as far as I can see).
