planned power outage

Post by Cosette » Sat Mar 13, 2010 5:10 pm

The power company has announced that the power on our street will be shut off on Tuesday morning from 4-4:30. Any suggestions what I should do about my CPAP machine? Might the outage damage the machine? Do I need a surge protector? I assume the outage will wake me up so I can take the mask off.

CPAP machines have sensitive electronic components in them, so I think a surge protector is always a good idea. Beyond that, when the power goes out it's no different than just unplugging it--they don't really have off switches anyway, so should be just fine.
