WHISTLE

Post by sleepyangel » Fri Jan 15, 2010 1:16 pm

Hi Fellow Cpapers! Hope someone can help. I have a Resmed VPAP Auto 25. It is very quiet, but I've been hearing a high pitched whistle when I breath in and out. Don't hear it when I hold my breath. Sounds somewhat like a wind chime. Doesn't seem to be the mask or hose valve. Has anyone else experenced this. Any way to eliminate it. Appreciate any feedback.

Probably not your cause, but I find that if my mask is not completely dry and a few water droplets find their way to the exhaust vent of my UMFF mask, it whistles! Very annoying, so I just have to take it off and dry with a tissue any lingering drops of moisture in the mask.

you can get that from condensation or from washing the mask and not drying it completely. You can also get that noise from the exhalation/ anti asphyxiation valve.

Sounds exactly like water somewhere in the hose/mask assembly. Doesn't take but a few drops. And it really sucks at 2am!!!

I also got some whistles and "oboe notes", especially with the Quattro's little ventilation grid. You may want to lower the humidifier setting a notch, if you are using one.
