HUGE [GOOD] NEWS -- BABY JONAH HAS ARRIVED!

Post by tattooyu » Thu Dec 17, 2009 10:49 am

As some of you may know, my wife and I lost our son, Andrew, last September. My wife's appendix burst at 19 weeks of pregnancy; both of them survived. At 27 weeks, she spontaneously gave birth to Andrew on our living room floor, alone. Luckily, I was just around the corner coming home. It was VERY, VERY traumatic for all three of us. He fought for a week in the NICU at Providence Saint Joseph's Hospital but developed Level 4 bilateral bleeding (IVH) in his brain. We took him off life support on September 7, 2008. He died in my arms.

However, I would like to announce...

I AM GOING TO BE A DADDY AGAIN!

We are 12 weeks along, and the baby may be born on July 4th!

I guess it's time for me to scour the board for tips on dealing with apnea and sleeplessness with a new baby!

Kenny,

Great news! I know how you and your wife have both mourned Andrew....

One of the greatest acts of courage is to move forward from a tragedy.... you and your lady wife are beyond that.

Prayers for you both!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Being no stranger to tragedy myself, I have been praying for you since I first read your story on this website. My heart went out to you!

I'm thrilled for you! You will remain in my prayers for a healthy baby and mom, and safe delivery! You don't realize how much we take for granted until tragedy strikes...birth and new life is truly a miracle.

Thanks everyone! It's exciting and frightening to move forward. I look at Andrew's situation as a fluke, and the fact she only has one appendix. Of course there is a myriad of other issues that could happen, but I'm not even focusing any thought on that. I feel pretty good about this one!

Kenny,
That's what naps and cat naps are for. When they baby sleeps you sleep.
The infant stage is over before you know it so enjoy it when it gets here.
