Woo-Hoo! Plus, Respironics Numbers

Post by TWW » Mon Nov 30, 2009 2:52 pm

Woo-Hoo
My first relatively full night on my BiPAP -- I went to bed with it on, woke up (and took it off) at 3 AM for about 12 minutes (if that), put it back on, and woke up with it on this morning.

I can't tell if I "feel better," as I'm already energized from the euphoric pride! Placebo Effect is cool too.

Respironics Numbers
Having no card reader nor viewing software yet, I do a display reset daily.

I got the following readouts this morning, well after the "give it time to log it" interval:

Code: Select all

Therapy 90% Pressure
Hours Inhale Exhale Leak AHI
6.5 12.5 10.0 34.6 4.3
Funny part is, the Data Summary page lists 7.3 for the therapy hours, and acknowledges zero sessions > 4 hours.

I don't understand the disparity.

Congrats!
It's kind of like walking one step at a time, only this is one night at a time. One night turns into a week, which turns into a month then a year and well you know.

Again congrats.

Hah!

Another milestone: I broke the 8-hour mark. Not a brag; just sharing my joy.

Here are the last five nights.

Code: Select all

Therapy 90% Pressure System
Hours Inhale Exhale Leak AHI
6.3 14.0 11.0 32.0 3.7
1.3 11.5 9.0 31.6 1.7
5.7 12.0 9.5 33.8 5.5
2.0 12.5 10.0 32.5 8.9
8.0 12.0 10.0 32.2 5.2
The only downers are the squish marks on the bridge of my nose (slightly painful) and on my, uh, jowls. Well, those and the inconsistency of alternating long and short nights.

I suspect that the low apparent AHI for night 2 was more due to the fact that I spent so little time asleep. So, for nights that I really get the treatment, mean AHI seems to be about 4.5.
