To repeat, Resmed and Respironics have exhale relief designs on their machines, that can be shut off, or activated. If you need the relief (especially good for people with high therapy pressures), go for one of them. If not, the Intellipap is one of the best machines that has no formal exhale relief. What it does do is to adjust to your breathing--the algorithm picks up your respiration rate, and lets you inhale and exhale pretty darn comfortably in my experience.
11 successful years as a hoser. Pressure settings are 8.5 low and 14 high on my Intellipap. No, I am not objective about DME providers, so I do have that bias and admit it.
