POLL - What type of mask do you use?
POLL - What type of mask do you use?
Hey everyone! I am curious which type of mask is most prevalent with users here. My doctor says that 'everyone' uses full face but I'm guessing from this community that he is wrong. I need some evidence for Mr Knowitall.
thanks!
thanks!

Re: POLL - What type of mask do you use?
I voted (nasal pillows), but I also have a full face mask. Do you mean what do we use as our primary mask?

Re: POLL - What type of mask do you use?
I am really curious about which type you are most comfortable using. Which one helps you get the best night's sleep?I voted (nasal pillows), but I also have a full face mask. Do you mean what do we use as our primary mask?
THANKS for the proof btw

Re: POLL - What type of mask do you use?
I voted nasal pillow because thats what I use most of the time ,but I do have a FFM for those times when I get super congested and I need to breath thru my mouth.

Nasal prong - Nasal Aire II, the only one I use. Also have a Swift LT but I hate it...never use it.

Re: POLL - What type of mask do you use?
If I was not a real mouth breather, I would definitiely be using the nasal pillows, but I think even with a chin strap I would still find away to breath through my mouth. Statistics show that 63% of OSA are nasal breathers. That statistic drops to 34% with a bad cold according the Mayo Clinic's sleep center.

I have a Quattro Full Face Mask that I use primarily, plus a Mirage Activa Nasal as a backup. I also have a ResMed Mirage Liberty Full Face with Nasal Pillows that my DME gave me as a freebie to try it and see how it works for me. Can't beat those freebies

I voted for the nasal prong I used to use the Resmed Ultra Mirage 2 nasal and when Resmed started acting up and not shipping through the internet to Canada I tried Babbette's free trial of the nasal aire 2 and for me that was instantly the mask for me.And no problem with the shipping.

I checked Other because while my Hybrid is considered a FFM, I think of it as well, other

Re: POLL - What type of mask do you use?
Anyone else care to vote? I knew my doc was wrong about 'everyone' using some sort of face mask but the results here are actually pretty surprising to me. Out of the 3 people I personally know using some type of 'pap' only 1 uses a nasal delivery (pillow). Can these results be right?

That looks like a mask that may work for me too ( I am a nose breather). How do you like it compared to full face?Muse-Inc wrote:I checked Other because while my Hybrid is considered a FFM, I think of it as well, other

Re: POLL - What type of mask do you use?
Before I found this forum, and because of my dad's experience, I thought the only option was a nasal mask (not pillows). If I recall correctly, back when he started (94) they were pretty much the only option....oh, and you had to learn to sleep on your back.
I was so happy to find out that a FFM would be an option and that I wouldn't have to battle with a chin strap since I am a complete mouth breather. I lasted about 15 minutes on nasal pillows at my titration study before I asked for the FFM. (I had to at least give them a chance) Learning that I didn't have to sleep on my back sealed the deal.
