It all depends on your insurance/location.
BCBSNE made it so the copay was just enough to keep us in-network. --last year.
This year we discovered (too late) that deductibles would have counted the same whether in net or out.
Paid way too much for our first two masks.
That'll teach us to do our research first.

I was billed about $2500 each for two sleep studies. I ended up paying about $3200 for the combined cost, plus another $800 for two sleep lab interpretations by the sleep physician. So, My actual cost was right at $2000 per sleep study, $4000 in total.

On Halloween night, October 31st, 2011, I had a sleep study done at Atlanta Medical Center in their Sleep Works Office. I recieved a $6,500 bill this month. I'm praying my insurance pays it in full because this was something I did not research into and if you are reading this before you schedule your appointment then you are smarter than me. For one night of sleep that's a lot of money. I am in the wrong profession.

I think mine cost $380 for which medicare paid $280. I didnt stay at the clinic,they gave me some portable equipment and I slept at home.
I received instructions on how to use it.

I paid $50 out of pocket, Medicare covered the rest. I too had the take home gear. I recently had a specialist appointment in Melbourne, $330 of which I got $220 back from Medicare. He wants me to do an overnight sleep study using CPAP, I'm booked in for June. $820 for the Hospital stay, $330 for specialist, $190 for the data review + return airfares from Hobart. All up about $1500 of which only about $300 is covered by Medicare. I've only recently taken out full health insurance, it doesn't cover pre-existing conditions for 12 months, so I may delay the appointment until December next year!

I have never been a fan of my insurance benefits (Cigna) but this was the only time I was happy about the experience.

Between the initial sleep consultation, the actually sleep study, and the followup interpretation of results, it was about ~$2,500. I paid $187 out of pocket. ($40 copay for the two visits and $107) for the PSG after insurance and negotiated rates. I also have a $500 deductible which $0 had been met but for some reason didn't apply. No complaints.
edit: I shopped around. Called every single sleep center in my network.

edit: due to a cancellation, I was able to have my PSG the same night as my initial consultation.

$1032 for the 2nd night,

$126 for the 1st night interpretation, $168 for the 2nd night

Both Out of pocket but the owner of the clinic was nice enough to negotiate a payment plan as well as the center who does the interpretation.

What I think is interesting with mine is the adjusted amount.

I had mine done at The Cleveland Clinic and they billed my insurance $5,773 for a one night PSG (no titration). My insurance had a contractual adjustment and only paid $1,771.94. My out of pocket cost was $0.

There is no way I could have afforded this without my insurance!

This is a tricky queston. I was quite aware of the $750.00 per night cost but was shocked to get the $1900.00 evaluation charge for the 2 nights I was overnighted. That makes it $1700.00 per night. My insurance paid 1/4 of this and my costs werer zero. But I did get them to confirm they really do charge these amounts to non-insured individual.

I paid $1100 of a $1800 bill due to deductable. Now that I am a little more educated on OSA I would definitely do a home sleep study. I believe you can do these for under $500 from your own home and not deal with the hellish night at the sleep lab!

I payed under $1000 per night, but it was still waaaaaaaay too much, given that the "sleep lab" is located in an office building, you have to go in the back door, the room was not clean, the chair in the room was actually scuzzi, and I had to share the bathroom with 4 other patients!

I'll be going elsewhere in the future.

I count this as one of the greatest blessings I've had in my life.

I lost my health insurance a couple of years back. A client of mine who was a veteran told me he joined the VA, and suggested I do too. So after 30 years since getting out of the Corps, I finally joined the VA healthcare system. It was than a year later when they discovered I had sleep apnea. For whatever reason my prior private doctor, despite my 3 or 4 years of complaints about fatigue, never made the SA diagnosis. His solution was either testosterone or depression meds. I didn't think I needed depression meds, so I went with the testosterone. Still had fatigue.

Anyhow, to make a long story short I had 2 sleep studies earlier this year (in addition to an upper GI, lung xrays, and a pulmonary function test). My total cost for all of those? Nada. And they paid for the ASV unit ($3000), masks, hoses, etc.

Truly, truly, a blessing that I am extremely grateful for, and I thank God for teh VA. Without the VA, I don't know if I'd even be here posting this.
