In Japan, $775 for the first study and $775 for the titration study. $0.00 cost to me.

I have a high deductible plan and when I called to see what it cost there since I would have to cover 100%, I was told the cash price was $920. I insisted on a split night, and they billed my ins. $5200 . I have not received the bill, but if it is for $5200 I will balk and see if they will just give me the cash price.

I hope this does not turn ugly, but there is no way I am paying $5200 for the study.

I was told that the study was $3,900 and that I would pay 20%, or about $800. This was confirmed by both the insurance company and the sleep center. Funny thing was, the insurance picked up 100% instead. I suspect it may be because I was diagnosed with severe apnea, but not sure. Got the Explanation of Benefits, and said they were paying 100%. Already then, no argument from me.

Mine was $6000 with 85% coverage. Seems a bit high compared to many others on this list. But it went much better than I ever expected and got me off to a great start. So, it was worth it.

And I thought Heart and Brain Surgeons Doctors were money makers…

And here I am screaming about $600.00 per night personal pay and $125.00 Doctor Visits….

My total Doctor costs ran Two Sleep studies @ $1200.00 and two Office visits @ $125.00. Grand total $1450.00.

Plus cost of ASV Machine: Respironics DS950HS & Humidifier: Respironics FitLife FFM $1900.00.

So final Grand total (So far) $3350.00

I seemly got the deal of the century…

The prices I am seeing here are INSANE!!

Prices paid by Insurance companies is even more insane…It is like what they paid for “The Space Pen” and a special "Space Hammer" 30 years ago and these cause scandles …

This has to fall in sooner or later.

This was the ONLY TIME I've ever said this...but for once Aetna Insurance was great on the sleep study as I hadn't even made my deductible. But the Sleep Study (split titration) was $3,800 ($832 billable) with 100% covered....so it was FREE.

I'm envious of you all that didn't have to pay anything! Provider billed: 5004.30. Write off: 3593.57. Amount allowed: 1410.73 Insurance paid: 1128.58. Leaves me owing 282.15. And that was just for the first night, since the split night wasn't successful. Did the titration last night which I assume will be about the same amount.

My deductible is $5000, so my sleep study was on my dime.

sleep study $2587.00
dr fees $ 337.00

total $ 2924.00

What a rip off, then it cost me $800 to get out of the DME with my equipment.

No wonder the medical system in this country is a sham.

The original sleep study was billed at $3700, of which my out-of-pocket was $650.
The titration run was billed about the same amount, but because of some subtle coding difference my share was almost a thousand bucks.

I have lived my whole life without health insurance and even with heart surgery and this I got a bargain.

Wow! For my split study, I just learned they submitted over $5,700.00 to my insurance! We'll see how much it is discounted. The good news is, my deductible is covered for the year and my CPAP will be paid for by the insurance. The bad news is, that means some more delay with my CPAP. I think they will rent it for 2 months, test my compliance then buy it on month three if I am a good girl. Maybe next week? I am so eager to feel better, I'm getting quite impatient. I thought I'd have it by now. Oh well.

first study, billed $3120
second study, billed $8000

i know everything is expensive here in nyc, but 8000 is outrageous, that's why insurance only paid them a fraction of it, lol... total cost to me : 0.

I had a split night sleep study and was charged $10,000 for one night and $9,500 for the other. My insurance did not question it at all and discounted it $10,000 and paid $6,000 and now the hospital wants the rest from me. I am fighting this right now. My wife has had sleep studies and they were about a quarter of this price!
