Fisher & Paykel 244 self monitoring capabilities

Post by mars » Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:20 pm

I have until Wednesday to get the machine that I will be keeping, or renting the Sandman Info for another month. I have to get the right machine the first time.

I have found where I can get a Fisher & Paykel 244 for much less than the Sandman Info. What I like about the Sandman Info is that I can get my AHi, and leak info on the lcd immediatly after every sleep session, and the software printed report seems pretty good.

I do not want to save money (however needful) and not have the information I want in order to to monitor my condition.

If there are any Fisher & PayKel 244 users out there, I would love to hear from you.

cheers

The sad truth is FP doesn't make a machine that has ANY useful data much less have software. I think they could be a leader if they would provide data and software with their machines but for so reason they chose not to.

If I am wrong someone please correct me.

You're gonna get what you pay for......to some degree.
There is no "244" model.

None of the F&P machines have full data capabilities.
They're probably good machines, but won't tell you how your therapy is working.

Thanks Wulfman.

244 is mentioned at SleepStyle™ 200 series with SmartStick™ Technology on the same page as your link.

That is all I could find.

Maybe they are getting their act together, but first releases of software are usually not very good.
Maybe more information will be posted.

OK.....I guess I missed that.

You might also check into how "available" the software is......for the actual patient/user.
Also, find out what the reports look like and how easy they are to read. I didn't see anything indicating that it recorded snores, either......just the following: "Efficacy Data (AHI, Leak, Pressure)"

But, yeah.....EVERYBODY needs to get into this act with data-capable machines.
