Rest in Peace

Post by Snoredog » Fri Dec 12, 2008 8:12 pm

To all of our father's friends on this blog:

Our father, John Dismuke, passed away last week on December 4, 2008 from a heart attack. Thank you to everyone who supported and made friends with him near and far. Although we are deeply saddened by our loss, we are at peace with his passing and surrounded by family and friends.

John's daughters, Cristen & Ali
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Since no one has yet responded, I have to ask if John is this forum's "Snoredog." It is stunning to hear of anyone passing away, and the loss is reverbirated in many ways across all the levels in which this person was so involved. I send my heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

OMG - I hope not...
I sit here with tears in my eyes at the thought of no more Snoredog. I don't think he realized how much I admired him warts and all...

God Bless,
Mike

Although the my time w/you was brief,

You were the junkyard dog that kept us safe.

Breath free, rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to his family, I know he will be missed from this forum, I have spent a great deal of time reading through his old post and have been amazed at his knowledge and how many people he has helped.

Hopefully they can save his past postings for future memebers to learn from.

Best regards

Condolences on the loss of a smart guy (as well as a smart alec!)

I learned and successfully applied tips to my personal therapy......SnoreDog saved me months of trial and error, at the least....

Family, I hope you know many thought well and highly of a man we never met in person....

Cristen & Ali, my deepest condolences to you and the rest of John's family. John talked about his two very bright daughters with such great pride.

Many of us will miss your father more than words can convey. May he rest in peace. Bless you and John.

To John's daughters:

John is a very vital part of this community.
Straight and to the point with anything.
Some found his style threatening.
I am proud to have met him.

We all share in your loss.
Thank You for letting us know.

You will be missed and you were an asset to the OSA community. Your knowledge helped so many and you were younger than I thought.

RIP my friend.

My call for a spiritual revolution is thus not a call for a religious revolution. Nor is it a reference to a way of life that is somehow other-worldly, still less to something magical or mysterious. Rather, it is a call for a radical re-orientation away from our habitual preoccupation with self towards concern for the wider community of beings with whom we are connected, and for conduct which recognizes others’ interests alongside our own.

Rest well Snoredog. Your presence will be missed!!!! Thank you so much for all your wise words and for sharing yourself with the rest of us........
Those that have passed are never gone. They're just not here!!

Heartfelt condolences to Cristen and Ali and all of the family.

Edit to add - They're not here...

Wars arise from a failure to understand one another's humanness. Instead of summit meetings, why not have families meet for a picnic and get to know each other while the children play together?
