dreaming in greater frequency & detail?

Post by Captain_Midnight » Wed Jan 09, 2008 12:06 am

Deerslayer writes...dreaming more. more in frequency & detail . reckon this is a good sign sleep quality is improving ?

And, I cartainly agree with the "detail" part of it.

Before I was diagnosed with OSA, I would have frequent, turbulent dreams. I would be throttled awake from dreams in which I was being chased, or threatened, or shot at or trying to escape from truly dire circumstances, and etc. Sometimes the dreams were true nightmares, and often with very claustrophobic situations or settings. I would wake up, sweaty, feeling horrible, and unable to sleep for hours. I had no idea why, but I did hate it.

Then one of the first things I noticed about CPAP therapy is that my dreams became more user friendly. (In fact one memorable early dream was that I was driving a car on a mountain road, and stopped to let some deer cross. How's that for non-threatening?)

Typically, I will not remember my dreams (w PAP therapy) because (as R.G. says above) I'm now completing sleep cycles. When I do recall them, they are much more pleasant, detailed, and follow a theme without skipping about in a scattered, nonsensical, patchwork of random scenes, each like from something out of the Terminator.

This is one (of several) reasons I've never gone a night without xPAP in over 2 yrs.

Happy Dreams all.

deerslayer: How much you want for the yamaha? I'm looking for a 750 - 800. Preferably a v-twin.

Funny after I started cpap I seem to dream less.

One vivid dream I had before starting cpap treatment.

I am in the woods. I see a rabbit. The rabbit changes into a wolf that
starts chasing me. I make a turn, start running to the barn ... At this
point I fall out of bed and hurt my knee. Now sense I was running (in
the dream) when I fell out of bed does this count as an exercise injery?
