For you scientifical nerds - may be interesting

Post by JOinPA » Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:00 pm

I'm sure not knowledgeable enough to digest this, but Jason the somnominsumpnsumpn apparently thinks this is the best thing since sliced bread, and he's been testing it since last November, so 6 months-ish. Have any of you heard of the V-Com device?

White paper about it here, way over my head.

Jason's video here

I'm not going to try it because I'm extremely happy with my sleep and tired of experimenting, I've burned myself out on it over the last couple weeks. But I'd be very interested in the reaction to this thing by the forum experts.

Another thread about the same product.

I have zero interest myself since my machine and mask are silent and I don't have a problem with the pressure at all.

Oh, shoot, Pugsy. I haven't been around enough to have seen that. Feel free to delete my thread, I'm sorry I made a duplicate thread.

I don't have any interest in it, either, I'm done playing for a while, and pretty happy with my setup. No more experimenting for a bit. I'm glad I did experiment, though, made me a little more knowledgeable, I think.

No need to delete this thread. Someone else may not have seen the first one and there's not a thread here that doesn't have duplication in some form at some time. Just like there hasn't been a brand new question asked here in years and years.

I looks like a flow restrictor, like those found in motel showers.
My late brother used to drill them out the first night,
as there is nothing worse than a measly dribble
when you need to wash the shampoo out of your eyes.
I rather like the nice flood of air upon starting therapy each night.
No, thank you--no dribble for this froggie--I need a RUSH!
(Also, how could this NOT mess with your data?)

Well, for a start, since it interfers with the air flow, it will defeat the auto sensing on your xPAP device, so those refernces to scored data in the video are pretty much worthless.

Since the resistance would be like an obstruction in the tube--
like a big cockroach; (which would populate my nightmares),
it would not make for good sleep.
