Denting My Hair, Creasing Hair

Post by gebo » Sat Mar 11, 2023 3:27 pm

I went to get my haircut and the cutter said I was creasing my hair across the top of my head. My wife has asked why I have a dent across the top of my head?

Do you have any suggestions? I'm using the Resmed P30i and the Dreamwear. I love how that utilize the top vent and it is the best performing I have found.

Would a Doorag work?

I have long hair. I pull as much of my hair out from under the straps that I can to avoid creases there, but I still get them at the top in the back and on top on the sides. I once tried wearing something on my head underneath the straps, but my head got too hot and uncomfortable. Currently just using a flat iron each morning to get the creases out.

I have no idea how successful a doorag might be but it would be a cheap and easy experiment to try.

If not successful you might look at some fleece padding around the frame to help diffuse the pressure on the hair/scalp and reduce the "dents".

Something like this

or if wife is handy one could be easily made.

I am bald & shave the what little is left, so no help on the hair portion. However an elastic chin strap, for my mouth breathing, seems to spread out the direct forces of my N30i.

Several years ago, I was using a mask that had a BUCKLE on top of my head.
It was breaking my hair off!
I used a strap cover.

Once I had skullcaps, I didn't really mind being chemo-bald.
Now that the bushiness is back, I kind of miss the lack of hassle.

i'm glad you mentioned skullcaps; my recent haircut was a bit "closer" than i like (no big deal, haircuts grow out.) so i decided to try a helmet liner to keep my hairband system in place as it was sliding down on my short "do".

worked a treat. so glad you've mentioned it in the forum before!
