Still waiting for a machine since Aug 1st MY AHI is 62.5

Post by KDuke1971 » Mon Oct 31, 2022 2:20 pm

I have both obstructive and central sleep APNEA. Is anyone else in this position? Also has had a CPAP from Luna? I guess this is one I will get. Any reviews on this machine?

Why the long wait? Insurance? Availability? Affordability?

If you are paying out of pocket there are plenty of machines available.

Consider cpap.com for a new machine (without insurance).
You are worth it. Trust the frog.
Cpaps can be had for less money than a new iphone.

If your diagnostic sleep study showed both obstructive and central sleep apnea, are you sure that the sleep doc wrote a script for CPAP or APAP?

The reason I ask is simple: Most people with both obstructive and central sleep apnea eventually wind up on a machine referred to as an ASV machine, which more expensive that a typical CPAP or APAP.

Any chance you're waiting for a more expensive machine and that the DME is having trouble finding one that matches your script?

Get a copy of your sleep study and your prescription.

Speak directly with your insurance to find out the process and what the delay might be.

Never trust the DME (Equipment Supplier) for this info

their motivation is profit not your health - remember that.

afaik - there are not many Luna users on this forum so I think you would be wiser to have the Dr. write the script to request a Resmed cpap if you want help here.
Yes, the Dr. can do that but you will have to insist that the doc do that.
Good Luck

Get a copy of your sleep study and your prescription.

Once you get that and ask your insurance if there is another DME in network you can go to any of them or out-of-network IF you choose too. Or buy a used cpap while you wait since you will also want a spare backup cpap in case you have problems with one you will still be able to sleep.
