Bleep mask and breathe right nose strip

Post by 1speechpick » Tue Jun 29, 2021 8:15 am

At night, I wear a Breathe Right nose strip due to mildly deviated septum. I was considering trying the Bleep mask.

Would the Breathe Right nose strip work underneath the adhesive strips on the Bleep mask?

Breath Right strip would work fine. You can always cut off the long ends of the bleep tape so they don't come in contact. I use this with it when I have a head cold. Works great.

I think that would be pretty dicey. It's critical to get the Bleep adhesive smooth on your skin or it will leak. I'm not sure how having another adhesive over the top of it would work. There's no chance of the Bleep working if you put the Breath Right on first.

I think it would be difficult to work, but you won’t know if you don’t try.

I don't think you'll be happy with it UNDER the Bleep adhesive because I think it would leads to leaks. But I think it MIGHT work on top ... however you might have to "up your game" and use a skin prep and/or extra tape if it doesn't hold.

Another thought I had was that by having a well sealed nose interface the pressure might puff your nostrils open just as effectively as a Breathe Right strip...

I agree that you won't know without trying.

A lot of people (most?) cut the ends of the adhesive off to make it shorter and fit better. I use these ends on the rare occasion I develop a leak, and sometimes preemptively if I think I might later on. Depending on the angle you attach the ports, how much you trim off the ends, where exactly you place the Breathe Right strips, and how large/small your nose is, you may be able to use both. But until you actually try...

Also, as khauser said, the Bleep might have enough airflow to keep your nasal passage open.
