Resmed Air Sense 10 and AHI

Post by joanna700 » Mon May 24, 2021 1:24 am

I need to know: Is the AHI number I see in the morning on the Resmed Air Sense 10 giving me the score for only last night? Or, is it an average of a week of nights, or a month of nights, or what?
(I"m working on getting this score lower, so it would be good to know this information.)
Thanks to anyone who knows the correct answer.

Joanna

Usually the machine defaults to a 30 day average for the sleep report AHI.

You can change the parameters though...you can make it show 1 night result if you wish.

Bear in mind that anytime that the power is disrupted to the machine that once it powers back up it will default back to the 30 day parameter and you will need to change it again.

Explained in the manual. Along with how to get to the clinical setup menu area so you can change the reporting parameters.

If you are just pressing the large button with OPTIONS on the screen in the morning, you are getting last nights AHI. If you are turning the dial to the Sleep Report, you are getting the average of the period of time you have it set for.

I don't look at the summary on the machine. OSCAR has a lot more detail.

True, but once a person's therapy is optimized and stable, a quick look on the machine display at last night's AHI, leak level, and 95% pressure may be sufficient.

I pull my card and download to oscar about every 2 weeks...I glance at the screen when I get out of bed. After 12 years, there is nothing dramatically changing.

Does the A 10 only ramp up to 95% of set max pressure ?

No...95% pressure has nothing to do with set max pressure.

I assume you are talking about AHI on the machine's LCD screen????
If so....
It all depends on which report you are viewing on the LCD screen.
One report is last night's AHI and one report on the LCD screen is a 30 day average.
Explained in the manual.
https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf

The quick look report where you don't turn any knobs...that's last night's AHI...If you turn a knob you are probably seeing the 30 day average and might account for the difference.

We have no idea which report you are looking at. Do you?

Hi, I have just received my new Airsense 10 Auto after using the same model as a loan machine for one month.
The loan machine showed AHI on the screen but my new machine does not show AHI.

Is this easy to fix myself as most of Sydney, Australia has just gone into the hardest Covid lockdown we have ever had (we are 2 months into a lockdown but it's getting tougher as of tomorrow)
I would prefer not to go back to the store if I can fix it myself. I have seen the Cinical Manual on this thread - should that be all I need?

Thanks

Using the Clinical Manual, go into the settings area and look for ESSENTIALS. Be sure it is set to PLUS.
