Finally a topic that wasn't started by a SoClean shill.

So sorry for you Carol, it's really unfortunate it took you so long to find us. Almost always, in any SoClean topic, we're not afraid to talk about the problems to one's health and equipment because of SoClean.

welcome to the zoo!

how do you figure the link between copd and soclean?

just to be clear, i am NOT a shill for soclean and think it's a complete waste of money.

but that's enough about them.

Which type of COPD do you have?

Just as a side note, I was diagnosed with emphysema many years ago and decided to get an air purifier for our home. After doing some research, I decided on one that included an ozone emitter. The logic behind this type of air purification sounded good. After a couple of weeks of using the machine, my wife and I both noticed scratchy throats and headaches. Upon further research, I discovered I was poisoning my wife and me and stopped using the machine. What a waste of $600

Now after being diagnosed with sleep apnea and using APAP for almost 10 years, I feel so much better.

While it is possible that the residual ozone from your SoClean machine could be causing your lung irritation, my guess is that you had the beginnings of some form of lung disease prior to using the machine and this just made it come to the forefront.
Of course, I'm not a doctor, but lung irritation whether it be from smoking, or other chemical ingestion can certainly be a contributing factor to most COPD cases. I know that asthma and emphysema can be both genetic and environmental.

I was diagnosed with mild COPD last year. I will say that the cpap machine seems to help the COPD issues at night. The machine's "forced air" helps me catch my breath at night. This has nothing to do with SoClean... though.

My Opinion is that the SoClean doesn't clean. It may or may not sanitize to some degree, but clean? I guess they feel that some degree of sanitizing is cleaning. I think not. Maybe sanitized crud is considered clean now days?

But either way, I absolutely do not want an ozone generator in my house and not even close to my bedroom.
