baby wipes

I have read previous posts about using babywipes instead of the more expensive cpap wipes. So I thought I would give it a go and picked some up at the dollar store (pretty darn cheap), they are alcohol free and claim to have aloe vera in the solution. Since using them I have developed nose sores where the p10 pillows sit. Has anybody else noticed this or is it a one off. Also what is everyone's preference.

Anyone can be(come) allergic to anything at any time... and you may be allergic to aloe vera. But try other wipes and see how it goes - just make sure there's no AV in them. But if you can't find any that are not problematic, you may have to go back to plain (Ivory?) soap and water.

I agree that CPAP wipes are ridiculously priced. For my daily cleaning, I use Wal-Mart brand or Clorox brand of wipes, (not baby wipes) without bleach, alcohol, or aloe vera. No allergy reactions to them.

I always just used a kleenix and a squirt of purell... (the prohibition to using alcohol on silicone comes from people that don't understand the chemistry between silicone and alcohol. (Alcohol doesn't bother silicone)).

I am allergic to baby wipes. I have never found one I can use. I use rubbing alcohol on a cotton round from walmart.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't remember where I read not to use alcohol on them, it would deteriorate the silicon but never figured out why it would do that as silicon is extremely resilient and heat resistant ( spatulas oven mitts ect )

There's a lot of nonsense spouted by DMEs..

There are a number of things that will degrade silicone... Alcohol (both isopropyl and ethanol) is not one of them.. some *oils* will degrade silicone, so getting oils off (with, for instance, alcohol) is a good idea.

Imagine if your spatula dissolved if you used wine or brandy in a recipe - interesting seasoning.

BTW - silicone, not silicon, unless the spatula is computer controlled

Rose, citrine, amethyst, Herkimer diamond.
Will that do?

OK I get the hint. I will clean it every night before bed with vodka. Does it matter which flavor or brand, then I will wave a piece of rose quartz over it to get rid of any bad vibes and to chase Pugsy's gremlins away

Test any new wipe, lotion, etc. on a small spot on the inside of your wrist if you suspect any sensitivities.
Better there than on your face.

If the object of using a wipe on your mask is to remove facial oil in order to achieve a better seal, it would seem to me that using a baby wipe would be counter productive given that they all contain some type of lotion or oil.
