Your pressure is not high enough. It looks like your pressure needs are similar to mine. I would recommend a minimum pressure of 16 cm.

There are folks on this forum much better able to provide feedback on improving your treatment, but I will say when I started CPAP years ago, I felt like the Op at first. I generally felt a bit better, but I wasn’t feeling leaps and bounds better. I also get that my body had long had bad sleep and it would take time to repair all the damage that had done. Every couple weeks I’d say I would make improvement, but it wasn’t until about 6 months into treatment that I had a “night and day” difference looking back on where I started, barely able to even have the energy to shower, get dressed, drive for more than 20 minutes without having to pull over and rest, etc. It gets better - stick with it. Also make sure you have found the right mask for you. For the first year or two I tried various ones, getting closer to what worked, but still had limitations. Eventually I found the perfect mask for me after 5 years of treatment, but things improved greatly even leading up to that. Don’t be discouraged!
Life before my CPAP was really no life at all!

How do you manage breathing with such high pressure?

Pfft, I've seen over 20 at times. Still not enough to blow up a balloon.

Well mine can go up as high as 20 (20 is max on my machine) but only when I’m sleeping. I’m gonna raise mine a little and see if I can take it when I’m awake

I have found it is no harder to exhale against the higher pressure than it is to breath when I am having an asthma attack. When my lungs try to shut down I have to really work to inhale and exhale until my rescue inhailer kicks in. Sometimes that won't do it and I have to resort to my nebulizer. We are a lot more adaptable than you might think. My wife's pressure often exceeds mine and she does just fine with it.

Bilevel's can go to 25 (a few to 30).

It seems like there are two opinions here you said my pressure needs to go up to 16 another person said I just need to have patience and things will get better idk who to listen to

I think people are recommending you increase your minimum pressure because pressure chart is very spiky. It is as if the machine jumps up to a higher pressure after each apnic even, then 'gets over confident' in anthropomorphic terms and starts lowering the pressure to make it more comfortable and then reaches a level low enough that you have another event. I am surprised that the software does not notice this pattern and start cranking up the minimum pressure on it own. But I am guessing that that is why others are suggesting manually increasing the minimum to see if you can get it above the threshold of no more apnic events.

No, it's just programmed to go to the minimum set pressure, trusting whoever programmed it to know what they were doing (which is typically a mistake, when dealing with doctors).

That's one of the features of the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset For Her mode, unfortunately, it goes back to square one every time it's turned on.

Maybe there'll be a smart mode in the future... but then, we wouldn't need sleep studies, and since the sleep industry is Resmed's customer, not us...

Don't hold your breath.

I know you didn't ask me, but yes it seemed "hard" at first. Now I don't even notice it. I don't even use the exhale relief because it gives me a psychosomatic urge to shorten my breathe.

I use 16.4, no ramp and no exhale relief. I just don't find them useful.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

For me the key was moving up in small increments (0.4cm) once a week. Barely noticeable as you move along. If you don't feel like you're comfortable after a week - just skip the increase that week. Really easy and most importantly, comfortable.
