Dumb question: finding a DME

Post by millich » Sat Aug 18, 2018 8:29 am

I know the saying about dumb questions but I feel so IGNORANT...

After using CPAP for so many years, I don’t know how to find another local DME. I’ve almost always bought from CPAP.com. The few times I’ve used a brick and mortar, it’s been the same one.

For the life of me, nothing I type into google brings up local DMEs that sell CPAP supplies. Can you please help?

Do you have insurance? If so call or check their website for a list of DME'S. Where do you live? If you don't have insurance you won't find any place better than Cpap.com. :D

my google fu is weak as well. it's a toss up for me whether it will work when i type in my search!

however, i just tried this. type in "cpap supplies" without the quotes. the google machine SHOULD auto fill with a choice like "near me". or you can just put in your city or the nearest city.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

If you have insurance, ask them for a listing of their suppliers.
Otherwise, use my Medicare link below to find providers approved by Medicare.
It will search a radius around your zip code.
You can expand the radius if need be.
There may be others, but Medicare is not all that picky; so . . .

I buy from our host cpap.com and from Amazon. I should buy replacement hoses, the ones I am using are my original 2 hoses from 2007. I like ResMed 6'6" hoses if they still make them; I will call my sleep docs office and see if they will sell me 2.

Most sleep doctors offices should also have a list of DME's in your area.
