Scoring Events for determining AHI
An Apnea or Hyponea is generally defined as an event lasting 10 seconds or more. Since a "breath" is generally six to seven seconds, the notion is to allow "a margin of error" before counting an "event." Of course, this scores a ten second event the same as an event lasting thirty-five seconds. Perhaps after the tenth second (if not sooner) an additional event should be counted.
