BEEP

Post by ELWhitlock » Mon Mar 19, 2018 11:22 am

My machine is about 6 or 7 years old. Recently it has started beeping once an hour. It does this 24/7, even when not in use. I got it when I was on my then employer's insurance. Since then I lost my job and began using VA insurance so I don't imagine they would service the machine. Any idea why it is beeping and how to make it stop?

Exactly which brand and model machine?
For some models there are beep codes available to help people trouble shoot but gotta know which brand and model first.

Without knowing more specifics....check all connections to make sure electric connection isn't sporadic.

My first suspect though...ailing machine due to old age.

It is a Phillips Respironics, Remstar Pro C-Flex+ according to the paper work. It just beeps once but it does it every 60 minutes, 24/7.

Remove from power, remove Smart card from machine (rt side toward rear of machine if it has one, wait 30 min. plug in power, leave card out. Check if it works now! a smart card will not be needed to make the machine work. If it's the Classic Tank version, like a loaf of bread, remove the HH and power it directly. Jim

I do not know this for certain but if the machine just started beeping for no apparent reason, maybe it has an internal battery for its memory that is finally dieing. Like I said , I do not know, just a possibility.

There's nothing on the screen when it beeps? I looked in user manual and it gives a list of errors and the beeps. I would tend to agree with the suggestion there may be an internal battery.

Okay.......the PR System One Pro CPAP with CFlex.

Go here and register and log in
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual
Down near the bottom of this page you will see
Click HERE to learn about our Members-Only Files Page
(This page includes CPAP Service "Repair" Manuals, plus other files of interest to Sleep Apnea patients).
Once registered and logged in if you click on the HERE link it will take you to a page where you can find the service manual for the System One models.
See what it says in that manual about the beeping.

or call this place as they are a repair facility for these machines.
See what they say.
http://acbio.com/

If you can't figure out the problem and fix it easily I don't know that I would put much money in repairs. It's going to cost probably more than the machine is worth to repair it and almost as much as a new or slightly used machine would cost.

The only battery in these machines is for the clock and when it gets old and tired the clock time starts getting off.
It doesn't beep.
Beeping is usually power related or something in the machine mother board or sensors is failing.

I believe that the VA should get you a new CPAP machine. I'n not sure if they'll want to do another sleep test, or will just trust the data from that machine. Ideally you should take a new sleep test, but if they don't want to, you can live without one.

I doubt that anybody would service such an old machine; it certainly would not be a repair authorized by the manufacturer.

Barring that, you can buy one on Ebay, Amazon, secondwindcpap.com, and several other vendors.

Beeping, especially at one hour intervals, is unlikely to be related to the clock;
because the clock needs to be working in order to space the beeps one hour apart.
