cpaptalk's imperfect w syndrome

Post by Josiah » Tue Jan 09, 2018 6:51 pm

Has anyone remarked about the strange phenomenon of cpaptalk's imperfect "w"?

Not that I am aware.
How is it imperfect?

Look at the w in the word aware that appears in your reply to me. Is is not quite imperfect? Now look at w's in other posts. All typed with the same typewriter with a defective w key? But we don't use typewriters any more do we. Hmmm

I apologize to all. It is a quirk unique to my PC. Every lower case w in just cpap talk is malformed. My mystery sorry to have bothered you.

the fonts you see come from your computer. when you get a page, the html tells your computer what fonts to display. if your fonts are on your computer you will see it as written. if a page is written in font that you don't have loaded, you will see your computer default font. so, no one else would see this mistake.

josiah may have a faulty font display with the w in whatever font is used in this website. the answer is probably to re-load the font pak for whatever this font is. the font paks are standard so it should be a free download someplace.

I'm sure your explanation is correct. I will learn to live with it as I must with OSA.

this is why it's useless to search out the perfect font for you and use it in pages, e-mails, etc. if it's not a standard font on your computer and you loaded it special, it's probably not on your audience's computers either. then they won't see your pretty font and won't even know they aren't seeing it. special fonts are really only good for something that is going to be printed out.

Now that Josiah points it out, I see it too. Not when I type in the word editor, not in titles or anything, but in the posted posts--and only on the PC, not on my iPhone. It's like a few pixels are missing.

Interesting. I always blamed my faulty eyes

lol
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
