PLEASE HELP WITH MY FIRST SLEEPYHEAD SCREENSHOTS

Post by Nito » Sun Dec 10, 2017 9:47 am

Hi everybody!
I just learned how to take screenshots from Sleepyhead software.
Could you Please have a look at this and give me some feedback?
My pressure is now fixed in 13,6 , minimum pressure atarts at 7, EPR is at 2 and even though my AIH numbers are low I still get Up with headaches, dizzyness and feeling really tired most of the days.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help. It is much appreciated.
Greetings from Spain,

You need to reupload those pictures in imgur. Next time you can hit preview before you make a thread to make sure they came out right.

Images too tiny and can't click on them to enlarge them. I can't read anything.

Copy the "linked to bbc" code url after clicking on large thumbnail.

If your AHI is nice and low....and your leaks are well managed...and you still don't feel so great then start looking at other potential culprits.

How many hours of sleep..actual sleep?
Are those hours fragmented for any reason? If so any idea why the multiple wake ups?
What meds are you taking?
Any other health conditions (mental or physical) going on?

I reuploaded them again
Thanks for your quick reply Pugsy
I will try to answer your questions.
Average hours of sleep are 7-8 but I dont rest well due to nose congestion. Even though I use a nasal spray I wake up two or three times every night.
I am not taking any medicines and apart from the severe sleep apnea I was diagnosed there are no other health issues that I know of.
Any other comments will be welcome.
Thanks again Pugsy.

I glanced at 4-5 of your charts. One thing in common is large leak % is more than normal. Ideally with a proper mask fit and no mouth breathing, you should not really have much leak at all. That is not always a culprit, or even matter, but it is something that can be improved.

For example, I use a FFM and even at very high pressures I almost always have very little leak. It took me a long time to get there though.

There's nothing just standing out on your reports, other than the fragmented sleep, that I can see that might point to a reason for your unwanted symptoms.
Sometimes we have stuff going on that the machine can't fix because it's not related to what the machine fixes.

The breaks in therapy line I know you were awake and turned the machine off and back on again. There's a good chanSoce that there were even more arousals that you may or may not remember.
7 hours of highly fragmented sleep is going to equal not feeling so good.
Now some arousals are normal like after a REM cycle has ended but we normally don't remember them but remembering 1 or 2 times isn't that abnormal.

The headaches and dizziness...I have no idea what is going on and I strongly urge you to followup with your doctor about those.
I see nothing here on the reports that would think would be causing headaches and dizziness.

The fatigue...might be from the slightly fragmented sleep but could also easily be something totally unrelated to sleep apnea.

These machines can't fix bad sleep if the bad sleep is caused by something other than sleep apnea.

Good point.
Please post leak rate charts.

Have you ever checked blood pressure for headache and dizziness? Definitely worth follow up with PCP like already suggested.

Here it is as requested: "Tasa de Fuga" means Leak Rate:

It is best if you don't show the mask pressure and do show the leak rate on the daily charts. What you want to determine is whether a spike in leak rate is causing you to wakeup.

The maximum leak shown could simply be a mask readjustment so I don't worry much about those really big spikes unless the time spent in large leak is prolonged.

Now if the leaks (no matter the size) are waking you up then they need to be fixed but more from the disturbing of the sleep side of things than because of impact on therapy side of things.
