Got the call today. Apparently Dr. Z has decided that having oxygen under 88% for 93 minutes warrants no treatment.

Seriously? Did she give you any reason? I would think that for someone who is 33 years old those oxygen levels are not at all normal, and are going to have significant long term consequences on your health and functioning.

Has Dr Z read the wrong chart again?!

Wishing you luck with this. I try not to dwell too much on how utterly useless some doctors are but sometimes when I read accounts like this I find myself getting pretty upset. Step away from the keyboard, Arlene!

No reason at all. Obviously I have escalated this and have talked to my respiratory therapist there as well and he isn't sure why either. So I made appointment with sleep specialist Monday and the RT is sending over those results to them. He just said it is probably a really good idea that I made that appointment.

This is total bull crap!!!

I am glad you are pushing things further. I hope you find a decent "expert" to hire.

Not sure if any of you are familiar with veterans choice program but it has been amazing for me. Let's me see regular providers if I can't see VA one in certain time or distance which comes in handy for specialist. I still have some time left on my referral to sleep center. I called them Friday afternoon and have me set up to see them Monday morning! So I am very thankful for that.

This Dr the VA has me seeing now though is losing her job for sure in March. I just have to survive till then!

Well, the incomparable sleep apnea care from our local Kaiser hospital here in Riverside Ca. makes the VA look really good. Example, my step Grandson recently had a home sleep study done, results sent to Kaiser and a few weeks later, A CPAP machine magically showed up on his door step. No instructions, no calls, no come join our CPAP group. Its been 4-5 months sense then and he still has not had any contact from them in any shape or form whatsoever. Doesn't have a full data machine, so I have endeavored to guide him as much as I can. Gave him several masks to help him find one he likes, The P10 is working fine. I give him lots of tips and he says he doesn't get any dry mouth, or remember many leaks, and my Grand Daughter says he's no longer snoring and is feeling SO much better...She is feeling better too, and doesn't hear any leaks during the night as well.

Other wise, I have had Kaiser for 3 years now and they are on me all the time for treatment of several issues I have.
For me, they are great...Go figure.
