I have been using the amara View since it came out a couple of years ago .... with this modification. I cut a resmed filter in half the long way and use it over the vent, and I am still alive and well,

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Interesting! I don't hear the vents at all unless the airstream is hitting the bedclothes.
Ditto for me. I've used both the Dreamwear nasal mask and the Dreamwear gel pillow mask (size small), and only have any vent noise when it's shooting directly at the pillow or sheets.

Dreamwear is one of the noisier masks. I call it the Darth Vader mask for that reason. Perhaps you should instead consider running a fan or using a sleep app with sounds (my personal preference is ocean waves) if these other suggestions don't work for you.

I have Dreamwear Nasal Pillows and Dreamwear Nasal Cushion (without the pillows) in sizes S, M, L.

All of them have identical looking exhaust ports. One of them - the nasal cushion in size S without pillows - isn't noisy. The rest make a loud rattling sound at the front exhaust.

I don't know if it's my nose shape or what. But the one that is quiet is working great for me right now - excellent seal, comfort, and quiet - so I am all set .
I got a pair of large nasal pillows from my supplier, one had this rattling sound you speak of on every exhale. I examined it closely, thought there might be moisture, maybe a sliver of the silicone (or whatever it is) in the exhaust, or the port was deformed in some way. I couldn't see anything different from the one I'd just replaced nor from the other new one. But that other new one was quiet as a mouse, and so far that bad one has been the only one that rattled.

I'm a little worried that my current small one is going to be the only one that doesn't rattle and that when it's time to re-order I will be out of luck :-p.

It's been a few years since this thread was posted, so I thought I would check to see if anyone has been able to successfully put some sort of filter over the front vent of the Dreamwear mask. I get up to use the bathroom every night, and it takes a long time to fall back asleep due to all the air leaving the vent. I got a buckwheat pillow and arranged it so the air is not hitting it, but the air is still very annoying.

The 'annoying' air is CO2, and it needs to dispense into the air, not be kept from doing so or go back into you. There are masks that may be quieter for you, but don't block the vents or you'll rebreathe CO2, which is not a good idea.

Worth a try as long as my wife is on standby with an oxygen tank and CPR skills. Jk. I would think if one had the CPAP on flex mode, that the CO2 would go back up to the tubes and out the top vent.
