Trying to help a friend who needs CPAP

Hello everybody. It's been a long time since I've posted. My CPAP therapy is going well, but I have a friend who has worse sleep apnea than myself and I'm trying to set him up with my old machine, a Remstar M-Series Pro CPAP. Unfortunately, it comes with the smart card, so I can't use sleepyhead and the versions of Encore that I have won't install on Win10. I have the smart card reader and the machine.

If someone could point me to tips and suggestions on how I can access the information on the smart card for a dinosaur machine, I'll be better able to help my friend.

You are stuck with Encore (some version or other) with the SmartCard thing being used.

What versions of Encore have you tried?

I've tried EP 2.2. I had 2.4 around here somewhere, but I can't find it.
I also found the Respironics card-reader software that installed okay, but I don't see the card reader showing up on my system. Weird.
