Too much hot air

I have a Respironics system one bipap with approx 11,000 hrs. It still seems to work fine. I did have it setviced once due to a none functional heat plate.
My problem now is that I've been waking up with a very sore throat and the air being delivered seems so warm. Almost hot. Even though there's pleanty of water in the humidifier tank. Some night I have to turn the humidifier setting from 3 or 4 to either 0 or 1 . This is so frustrating. Some nights it seems fine but most nights it's so uncomfortable that i take it off and suffer the rest of the bight and theoughout the next day. Any suggestions?
