Best source for good used machines?

Post by MaxINTJ » Wed Sep 13, 2017 7:19 am

I did a quick search on Ebay, but either my search terms were wrong, or they didn't list any. I'm just looking for a reputable place to look if I need to upgrade to an APAP (if I can get my current one to work while the trial is still good - and if VA won't approve an "upgrade").

EBay doesn't allow cpap machine sales or complete mask sales because of the little technicality that they have a "RX" sticker on them.
The do allow mask part sales because parts don't have a RX sticker on them.

I'm sure it has to do with some government regulation intended to extort people in the name of "revenue"...

Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss ... ed+AutoSet

Brand new
$499
They don't always have them showing.
Unfortunately no "for Her" models at this time showing.
I don't know how critical that 3rd mode is...damn.

Well crap...when I searched for it I didn't find it. Your search fingers are better than mine.

I love shopping at Amazon...and I have more than got my money's worth out of the Prime membership.
Just ordered a couple little items last night.
Plus the return policy is generous. I had to use it once because I stupidly ordered the wrong toilet seat.

If I knew at this point it would work, I would just order it instead of messing around with the VA.

I hear you. Problem being what we have already talked about.
You don't have OSA and there's a strong probability that there's more going on than UARS. So you drew the short straw all the way around.

Any idea what the return policy might be through Amazon on something like that?
Normally cpap machines aren't returnable because they are considered medical stuff and people don't like other people having used medical stuff so it makes it hard to resell something.

I don't have a problem with buying a used machine (it's been how I have managed to try so many different machines) but some people do and I never pay anything near full retail when I buy used...I buy dirt cheap used.

That machine for $488 is probably really close to a typical used price, isn't it?

Yeppers. It's a heckuva deal for a new machine.
I paid a little less than $400 for my used AirSense 10 for Her AutoSet with I think had 187 hours on it and I considered that a steal of a deal price for that model.

I know your situation is different so I can't say for sure it will do what you want but for those of us with regular OSA...I have never heard anyone complain about going from a Respironics to the ResMed.
I started cpap therapy with a Respironics machine and they are good machines but I prefer ResMed now that I have had a chance to try both brands. It suits my needs just a little better.

Your DreamStation Pro...it's going to run out of apap time one of these days and you will be stuck with fixed cpap...while not the end of the world...it does have some drawbacks.

Hi= I see you are in Missouri. I found this guy on St. Louis Craigslist. He has provided me 3 Resmed Airsense 10 Autosets. All had zero run hours. He has some kind of connection to a DME. I can PM you his phone #. He sold them to me for $220. I'm in Il and he delivered it to me. Let me know. He may be able to get you a specialized machine in you ask, don't know.
