Full face mask

Post by Greg5819 » Sun Sep 03, 2017 4:35 pm

Currently I use an Eason2 nasal mask, but have to put 50mm tape horizontally across my mouth to stop air escaping when I sleep. As I sleep on my side would changing to a full face mask require me to sleep on my back to prevent the mask from leaking? Also any advice on the best and lightest mask available would be appreciated.

No, you wouldn't just have to sleep on your back to use a full face mask.
Any mask can be worn in any sleeping position.
There are even people using full face masks who sleep on their stomach.
So you could still sleep on your side if you wish. Might have to modify bed pillow placement or something to accommodate the larger mask surface...so a bit more challenging but people do it all the time.

I don't have a lot of full face mask experience.
The only one I have been able to even sleep with is this one.

All of the others irritated me so much I didn't even try to sleep with them.
I normally use a nasal pillow mask. I kept the Amara View just in case I ever just had to have a full face mask. So far it has been over 2 years that I have had it and the only time I used it was when I got it to see if I could use it or not.

My wife uses the Resmed F20 full face mask and often sleeps on her side with no problems.

I use the F20 and sleep on my side with a max Epap of 19. I don't usually have large leaks.
