But yes, cpap is continuous since it keeps blowing even while you're exhaling (though not necessarily at the same pressure/flow rate depending on your flex/bilevel settings). The problem is it's flow rate. It will keep supplying you air, but not fast enough for what you want in order to feel comfortable. Same as the straw analogy...you can breathe in for as long as you want to get the right volume, but it will take you a much longer length of time to get there than if you didn't have the straw.
