Just had an Endoscope today. I was told to bring my Cpap machine with me. When I arrived, the front desk asked me if I brought it and I said yes. They took me back to the prep area and the nurse asked me if that was my Cpap and I said yes. She put it under the bed and said I wouldnt be needing it and I didnt have to ever bring it back for any other procedures. She said We'll be doing the breathing for you. They got me all setup and she said count to 20.. I think I remember making it to 3. Then I woke up and it was over. felt a little groggy but I felt rested. felt like I was out for a couple hours. Wife said it was 20 minutes.. LOL. about 20 minutes later and a bottle of water, we walked out and went to breakfast. alls well.. Piece of cake.

I don't like benzos so I passed on the sedative when I had my endoscopy last year. There was a lot of gagging and wretching but that's about it. The nurses kept asking me if I was ok because of the tears and gagging and I just nodded ok. There were laughing and joking with me. After it was over I was able to just get up, walk out and drive home. Not necessarily recommending this approach but it's not that big a deal. Certainly no issue with breathing.

A few months ago, I had a colonoscopy. They used a combo of fentanyl and something else. No memory at all of the event, I am thinking I want some of this for the next four years of so. Covfefe.
