when it get that high doctor told me to adjust my insulin.
thats crazy i think my machine is acting up. i need new one.
With that number, you should be going to the emergency room or injecting some massive amounts of insulin.
But, some people feel it and some may not. That's WAAAAAAY too high.

Seeing you edited your post........
It IS possible that your meter/strips are malfunctioning, but you need to either get another one to cross-check the results of to to the emergency room and see if they can verify the number.

Probably should be also getting a Hemoglobin AIC blood test done.
http://www.webmd.com/diabetes/guide/gly ... test-hba1c

And getting in touch with your doctor.

Obviously things aren't well managed like they are now and I don't blame you for not wanting to do 10 injections a day.
I would seriously be considering the pump if it were me.

I wouldn't look at it like "failing" anything. The pump is just another tool that can be used when the other tools aren't working out so well.

The failure would be doing the same thing over and over with diminishing results (your feelings - which do affect physical health) and not changing something.

oh my sleeping levels have dropped now i sleep 6.4 hours vs 10 or 11 hrs.
more energy too.
.................
the sleeping machine is a dream. i love the machine. thanks to sleeping machine i sleep awesomely.
my sleeping machine is a dream station.
I hope you know more about sleep apnea than you do about sugar, but I doubt it on both counts.

You need to buy a bottle of test mixture to check your tester, it is dated for expire, so it must be good. instead of blood you use it to see if your machine is working correctly, your test strips must be good too. This is supposed to be taught you when you are dianosed, even before you play with insulin, with insulin, things really get real. Jim

Most meters go to 600, if you are not in a coma, or heart failure and can't read it. I hit 600, the dr ordered me a hosp room, I told him I'd be 30 mile away working outside on heavy equipment. He told me to tell the Ambulance where to pick up my body. I changed doctors by mutual agreement.

Now my A1C is 7.5 to 7.8, need to be 6.5, but isn't going to happen. I use two types of Insulin mixed "N" Normal and "Novolog" Fast acting! About 200 units a day. Three shots daily with meals, makeup of the shots by guess depending on what I eat and my meter numbers, kind of like bird hunting with a shotgun, you must aim where the bird will be flying at the time the shot get to them. Sometimes you hit the bird, sometimes he flies away unhurt.

You must match the amount of insulin to your needs, to much is as bad as to little, both can get you in trouble.

Also there are 5 areas to rotate your injections, both upper legs, stomach, both upper arms the instructions are in your insulin box, read them. injecting 10 times a day, I think you are getting poor treatment....

Sugar Diabetes treatment isn't set in stone, your body doesn't always use food and insulin the same, Sleep Apnea is much easier to deal with.

a $3000 pump wouldn't help me, I take way too much, I doubt if it would help you much, you need to learn how Diabetes works. Jim

I start feeling icky at 180, and feel really sick at 300.
Your diabetes sounds like in the "brittle" range.
The failure is in not owning it and treating it effectively--whatever that takes!

Mine is the opposite, I feel better high, 140 and lower I get worse, at 80 i'm getting really bad. It seems you get used to being high, but it's still doing a lot of damage. My worst thing Supper and Evening I eat too much, I also eat before bed CHilEEE, at 2 A.M. my worry is going too low in bed in the A.M. I seems my mix of insulin hangs in my system too long, then my bedtime shot works better than it should. I keep emergency Reese Cups on the bed table, along with Hershey Kisses, and a extra meter. When I get too low at night, I panic and end up with a over correction. Low seems to wake me up, so far. Jim
