Noisy AirSense 10 machine

Post by jarhed73 » Mon Mar 13, 2017 8:06 am

I recently received new machine Airsense 10
I have pressure of 12. I use an AF F10 full face mask. I hear the air flowing on inhale. Is this normal? I have checked connections and machine indicates seal is good. It is loud enough to cause distraction.

Are you using the humidifier with water in the water chamber and still hearing the noise on inhale?

Plug your ears with your fingers...do you still hear the noise?

What mask are you using?
How do you route the long hose....is it laying on your mattress or up overhead?

See if taking the long hose up off the mattress helps with the inhale noise or not.
Prop it up somehow so it doesn't ever touch the mattress.

Might also try a hose cozy and see if that helps or not.

If using EPR...try turning it off just to see if the noise changes.

Normally when we hear the same noise at the same level of loudness when our fingers are in our ears it's more of a conductive noise and not simply machine motor noise.
Conductive noise is harder to fix...or it has been for me.

Try to reseat the humidifier chamber with a solid push. Mine was making a disturbing whistling noise and that took care of it. Ultimately I ordered a new humidity chamber for my AirSense 10.

I sent my AirSense 10 back because it was too noisy. I continue with my much less noisy S9. But I am looking at the Dream Station as my next CPAP.

I have to wonder if you imagined that it was noisy, like you imagined that the water tank was smaller.

I had the same problem with noisy airsense 10. Took it back to sleep store. The technician asked if I was plugging into an extension cord. I was. Plugged directly into outlet, no noise.

i have to assume you have a defective unit.

i've got an airsense 10 autoset and it is super quiet.

i can hear the celing fan in an adjacent room and the sound of air coming out of the exhalation ports on my masks over the sound of the airsense 10 machine.

i was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it is.

i was assuming i'd be listening to an air compressor all night when i started cpap.

I must have had a defective s10. However it would make sense that the larger size of the s9, would be quieter due to the larger size.

not really sure why that would have anything to do with it.

my airsense 10 autoset is no louder than the hard drive spinning in my macbook pro. compared to the CPAP i used on my titration, it is SUPER quiet.

i'd definitely have it checked out if it is loud enough to notice above the sound of your exhalation ports on your mask.

From what I am hearing the Dreamstation is much quieter!
