does anyone have any tips for keeping my machine from sliding on my nightstand

I don't know what size hose you use, but you can get a 10' hose for a couple bucks more.

I agree with the sheriff. Get a longer hose or move the table closer to the bed (or the bed closer to the table).
If that can't be done or doesn't work, try one of the other solutions that others have suggested.
Also, is your night table level? Is the floor level? If not, that might be your problem.

I use a machine in my big truck, and to keep it from sliding I use a rubber mouse pad underneath, then run the hose up to loop through the handles of a makeup bag I have stowed in an overhead, and then down to me. Not perfect, but it keeps everything where it should be, routes the hose up and keeps rainout from being a problem.

I use a thin bungy cord (just more convenient than sewing elastic because of the hooks), but a Hose Buddy also will prevent machine movement as well as reduce the hose tangling up in the sheets according to those who use one.
