America has a history of electing great leaders when they are needed most. I think that is what has happened and that DJT will really MAGA! If yesterday's entertainment was any indication, things are off to a great start. Spectacular fireworks finale.
Best wishes to a beautiful country from a Canadian supporter.

Good News, it's the 21st, just went outside looked up no Russian Rockets in sight, internet still working, no Russian Hacker have taken the few pennies I hid from The Obama Tax Squad. House utilities are humming away keeping my family warm and clean even have food in the ice box (limited).

Trump hasn't thrown the Football and nuked us all, even the Liberals, are wearing down from destroying everything in the cities they have to live in. Still can't get the ones that said they were leaving, to leave, but then again they have been known to lie, just a little, some more than others.

All in all, good first day in Trumpland, eight more years of it, minus one day, of course.

Sleep Well and God Bless The U.S.A. Jim (Goofproof)

I will be glad when all of the protests calm down and we can get on to other things in the news. So much time, money and energy is being spent that could be used to care for homeless or other projects that will really benefit people's lives.

zOh brother...

You are not even an American citizen. Keep your opinions to yourself on American elections. Few things irritate me more than non Americans commenting with authority or quasi-authority on American politics, American elections. Stick to where you live and what you know of firsthand...CANADA.

I'm not watching the inauguration events as I won't be home. My wonderful home in Minnesota is typically a blue state so none of us here are very happy, but that's the way the world turns. As the OP said, we have to live with it.
Well said, I would have been heartbroken if HRC were elected but I would not have rioted, thrown rocks at police; as a matter of fact, I am too busy working to do any of those things. Maybe the protestors should get a job (or is protesting their job)

If each one of those protesters had brought a extra sandwich with them to the protests and gave it to the homeless, the homeless would have died on the spot from diabetes.

What always got me and still gets me is to this very day I do not understand how ANY AMERICAN could vote for obama. And honestly expect any sort of truly robust comeback from the economic collapse of 2008. Blew my mind in 2008/2009 and blows my mind today and obama left back on Friday, thank God.

I never voted for "it." I was not enthralled with any of the candidates running against "it" in 2008 or 2012, but anything with GOP would have been better.

All I know is, my Second Amendment rights are safe for another four to eight years. If Trump can get Ginsburg out of the Supreme Court somehow and stack the Supreme Court, I figure the Second Amendment is secured for the rest of my life, twenty to forty years.

Trump won on promises of totally overhauling American trade treaties like NAFTA. Trump won on promises of bringing back manufacturing jobs to the USA, replacing low paying, low skill, high stress service jobs that dominate America today with good old manufacturing and industrial jobs that pay much better. This is a very old school and simple approach, but if he follows through, it will work well.

Additionally, during obama's second term obama let his true colors on things like traditional American Constitutionally based individual rights shine through. Such as his attacks on the Second Amendment, which started up almost immediately after his election in 2012. Additionally, obama's attacks on basic institutions such as law enforcement made many Americans feel physically unsafe. I dont believe obama would have been able to get re-elected in 2012 had obama let his true opinions on the Second Amendment be known before 2012 votes were cast. Trump got NRA support early on and that definitely helped Trump (NRA member here).

Trump is a nationalist and proud of it. Not in the Nazi sense of the word nationalist, but in the "lets bring real manufacturing jobs back to this country" and "lets start putting our own country first for a change again." I dont see what the big deal is on the nationalism thing. I embrace it, Ive always been a Nationalist, always had the attitude of my own country as first.

obama was all intellectually dizzy and goofy and shit. He was a dufus. He was also LAZY. I knew obama was lazy as hell before he even took office. He talked like a lazy person, his ideas...the ideas of a lazy person.

My concern is if Trump does not follow thru in his first term. He has his work cut out for him. This country is demoralized and gutted out in many respects. A lot of jaded, cynical, mentally fatigued people in the USA since 2008. If Trump does not deliver for whatever reason, I am very concerned the Bernie Sanders crowd will be back in hordes in 2020 and all the naive people in this country who want "free stuff" will vote for socialism, lock stock and barrel. That will be THE END of the USA. Hopefully Trump will deliver as he promises, but if he does not, I have my own bug out plan in case the Bernie Sanders crowd is around in 2020 and win. I have a lot to lose, my family owns a lot of land, Im not putting up with redistribution of wealth crap that the socialists would bring. I predict it will be a big ole physical thing if you get my drift, if it comes to that, which I truly hope it does not.

I truly hope most Americans will never sacrifice their Constitutionally guaranteed individual freedoms and rights for financial security and mediocrity (socialism). That is in the back of my mind these days, its something if you are a white male like myself you gotta be thinking about if you are not brain dead.

America needs jobs jobs jobs jobs, all the jobs it can get. obama never got that. Trump seems to get that. I think if that issue of jobs jobs jobs jobs is fixed, all the rest of this political strife will go away on its own.

Julie wrote:"I would once again ask why we can't find it in our hearts to treat each other with respect..." sounds great, but what do you do when the candidate and PEOTUS does not respect so many others himself?
Julie, I hear so much about Trump said this or that, he is racist, he thinks it is OK to assault women, yet all I ever hear are these general terms. I would like for someone to post something he said or did, with accurate quote of what was said, they we could discuss it, but the blank slates he is a racist, hates gays and women etc is just talk.. I have probably listened to him as much as anyone and I have not heard this. I know this is not court, but if it were I don't think anyone would get to first base with a judge by making off handed comments with backing

You have got to hand it to trump. Even though Michelle had a reputation for pushing physical fitness; Trump got more overweight women out walking in one day than Michelle did in 8 years.

And they left their trash on the ground for the homeless to pick thru, but it was a little deep to push your shopping cart thru. After the protest they all went to Starbucks! None of them went to work! Jim
