Sadly, not all chiropractors are alike. Their ranks are quite divided,
and you have no way of knowing if you are dealing with the science-based
practice or the aggressive marketing cult side.
It is legally marginal in many countries and outlawed in a few.
And yet it attracts many who seek an easy fix like passive manipulation,
as opposed to the WORK of physical therapy.
No, thank you. This frog does not believe in fairies.

I worked with someone that had neck problems and came back from a chiropractor appointment with cervical fracture. While I'm sure you can't paint all with the same brush, I also just say no.

There are opposing camps that call themselves by the same name;
determined by the schools from which they come.
Some are more focused on the science side, requiring some medical training, and ethical behavior.
Others concentrate on up-selling and cracking--to the detriment of many who mistakenly trust them.
If there is any way to look them up to determine the relative legitimacy, this info would be good to share,
as properly applied, some maneuvers can be useful--but NOT all! And definitely not for every person or complaint.

As for my shoulder, I have been icing it and limiting movement, which was exactly what the PT recommends.
It is already much better, and is not as severe as I had feared.
