Humidifier information specific for Myanmar (Burma)

Post by D.H. » Sat Dec 24, 2016 9:48 am

When I travel outside the U.S. and Canada, I generally do not have access to distilled water. Therefore, I generally use any water that is potable (except colored, flavored, or carbonated). Generally that means bottled water. The result is a residue in the water chamber, which I have to clean out when I return home.

However, the bottled water in Myanmar (provided by my hotel and widely available in grocery stores at reasonable prices) is sold under the brand name Alpine. It appears to be purified water. It left absolutely no residue in my tank; a very pleasant surprise.

Anybody traveling to Myanmar (short or long term) and anybody who lives there. Even permanent residents who drink the local water might not realize that Alpine water is good to put in CPAP humidifiers. While medical services in that country are not what they should be, some residents probably have CPAP machines.

In the spirit of the season, Merry Christmas.
It is a sad time to be alone.
Gotta go--grandson just arrived.

I imagine almost anything will surprise you, you seem to be a blank slate, but you aren't allowed chalk, or you ate it all. What are you doing in Myanmar, trying to corner the world market on used brass rings, or you just like traveling around the world looking for obscure things to ask about or comment on. Jim

The sarcasm in reply to the original posting is really rude and uncalled for.

Although the medical care in Myanmar is not where it should be, one cannot assume that there are no CPAP users in that country. Also, one cannot assume that nobody who ever uses a CPAP would travel there. Much of the information on this forum is of use only to a small minority of CPAP users.
