Federal charges brought against CPAPShopper.com

Post by dvejr » Sat Nov 05, 2016 12:45 pm

I was recently contacted by a USDOJ Victim Support office. A CPAP supply firm from whom I had ordered in the past, CPAPShopper.com, is facing charges of reselling used CPAP supplies as new.

United States v. Defendant(s) Ted Nugent
Case Number 2013R00053 and Court Docket Number 16-CR-00105

If you've ever ordered from them, contact the court.

If you've ever ordered from them, contact the court.

Question,

Why get involved with it?

Because, if you've ever ordered from them, you may have been a victim of their fraudulent practices without knowing it.

Have you found an Internet link to that case? I couldn't find one.

These forum pages have MANY instances of DMEs doing the same thing.......wonder why there haven't been more cases about that?

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

This bandit was apparently ratted out by a confederate: a crooked sleep tech who sold once-used gear (and the original packaging) to Nugent.

I couldn't find any internet reference either. I found something about questionable credit card charges, but that does not appear to be relevant to the allegations in this chain.

As I would except, their website is not up!

I received the same notice in early September. The main charge is "Postal Service Crimes." The issue is that he was selling brand new items labeled by the manufacturer as "not for resale" by repackaging them without the "not for resale" label, while claiming on his website all products would be shipped in original manufacturer packaging. So, he was getting free products (mostly from ResMed, I believe) and selling at a big discount, violating ResMed internet seller agreements. It appears Theodore Nugent used to work for the host of this forum.
