Full face mask

Post by Mr.Mar10s » Wed Oct 05, 2016 6:31 pm

My mask is rubbing the bridge of my nose raw. To the point of bleeding. Anyone have any points on how to stop this besides getting refit. It is a mirage Quattro full face. Thanks for the help.

You have several choices.....mask liners from http://www.padacheek.com , a nose pad https://www.cpap.com/productpage/boomer ... -cpap.html or find a different mask.

don't make it so tight, use mask liners, extend the forehead support.

Yes, it shouldn't be too tight to cause bruises and too loose to cause leaks.

Plus, as posted above, pads will help. It's a bit tough to to get the right fit and tightness, but once you do, you will be OK.

I had the same problem when I first started and used gel pads for a long time.
Now if I ever feel the need I just use a Sensitive BandAid and they work well.

Take a look at my blog Taming the Mirage Quattro.

Put a bandaid on your nose to let it heal.

Loosen all the straps and dial out the nose angle like this\{. Put the mask on, machine on, lying down. Tighten the lower straps to stop the leaking. Adjust the upper straps as little as possible--this lets the air cushion fully inflate to hug your nose. If you tighten too much around the nose the air cushion can't do its job and you get too much pressure on the bridge of your nose. Fine tune the dial and upper straps ever so slightly to prevent leaking in your eyes. Make sure you can move around in bed without setting off major leaks.

I had the same problem with several different masks. I started using a piece of moleskin on my nose as recommended brand the first therapist I saw. She said her husband had been doing that for several years.
