Try fixed pressure of 6....see what happens.
Either go to cpap mode or just set the minimum at 6 and the maximum at 6 in apap mode.

Let's see if the increasing pressure and the variation is maybe impacting the insomnia and also see if the higher pressure, that the machine is wanting to use, is impacting the centrals.

Pugsy it is almost as if something is happening to my breathing, and actually I am aware that I am taking long pauses when I am just trying to get to sleep. It is almost as if I am just not breathing as often.

example of flow chart on Sunday night, almost the whole night looked like this, except for the odd glitch

Image

Now the flow chart looks crazy from last night ... all the clear airways are embedded in this sort of irregular looking flow chart. Almost the whole chart is full of this irregular looking flow.

I am not sure what I am going to do, Pusgy. I feel at a loss to explain why things changed so dramatically from one night to the next.

That's awake breathing and it just going to look weird.
What is more troubling to me right now is that you are having more insomnia issues now and your mind is in over drive and you are awake and thinking about your breathing which is making the breathing look even more weird which makes you worry more and you go round and round each time making it worse.

Awake breathing means nothing on these reports....doesn't matter how good or bad it looks...it means nothing.

How about just backing up and going with the basics.
Give fixed pressure a try....let's see if you can at least get some sleep and worry about pressure needs later.

Thanks Pugsy.

It is exhausting me, both mentally and physically ...so that try as I may I can now only think about the number on the machine each night as I try to sleep, and am super aware of my breathing and sleep. I check the data half a dozen times a night, sometimes downloading 3 or 4 times a night into sleepy head and getting increasingly upset with the CA events logged. This creates an impossible situation for calm restful sleep.

I think I am just going to try to sleep without it and put this out of my mind until the Jan apt with the specialist.

Hopefully the specialist will be able to provide insight into this and help point me to someone who can provide counselling during this adjustment phase.

I would very much like to thank the forum and esp Pugsy.

If this forum provides masks or equipment here to folks who can't afford these or have limited access to care I would like to donate towards that effort.

If such a thing is done here, please let me know so that I can pay forward the wonderful support so graciously provided here.
