New User newly diagnosed with Mild oSA

Post by bpathakis » Mon Nov 16, 2015 12:16 pm

Hi all,

Glad to have found this board. I just got my results back my sleep study, and was diagnosed with mild osa. My AHI was 18, and the doctor ordered a cpap machine (Airsense 10 autoset). Just wondering if it's common to have cpap therapy recommend for mild cases of osa?

Thanks.

Anything above AHI of 5 will require CPAP therapy. Your 18 is considered moderate. You stopped breathing 18 times an hour for at least 10 seconds. Your O2 level probably dropped also. Good News...The doctor ordered a good machine for you.

Thanks for the reply.

My blood 02 dropped a bit below normal too, but I don't remember the numbers.

Hopefully I'll be able to get started soon. Just working through insurance now to get the machine ordered.
