off topic - a real nice tablet I stumbled across

Post by metsfan302 » Wed Nov 11, 2015 2:25 pm

I thought I would share this tablet my wife and myself came across.

I thought this was a good enough deal on a 10.1" tablet I thought Id share.

Its a RCA Pro 10 - 10.1" tablet - 4 core processor, 16gb built in storage, with keyboard case - $69!

My brother has something similar with the Android OS. I just hate it when he brings it to me to do anything to it. Give me Windows or Apple OS (iPad) any day of the week.
But if someone was really strapped for cash and they can get comfortable with these Android type of things...it will get the job done. My brother even has a little keyboard that can be used with it.
Fortunately he doesn't bring it to me very often because he also has a little iPad Air Mini.

My iPad Air finally gave up the ghost this week (power supply issues that I can't seem to fix) so I have a new one heading my way. I am currently in iPad withdrawal at the moment.

I had a bad case of "iPad Pro" drools when I was shopping for my new iPap Air....you know it was officially released today (or was supposed to be) but I bought a new laptop back in May that I just upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday (hated 8.1) or I might have yielded to the temptation to get "the latest an greatest" ...I just couldn't pay that much now and I don't actually need that much in an iPad. I did "think" about it briefly though but the tightwad in me won out.

I used to wonder about those Android type of tablets and though it might be something I could use until I actually tried to use one. If all you do is surf the web then I guess it would do that just fine but none of my usual apps would work on it and none of my usual tricks worked on it and I ended up calling my brother's some pretty colorful names and none of them were very nice . I don't adjust well to change...that's why I hate Windows 8.1 and kept putting off using the new laptop.
Now if someone is more techy than I am and can get used to things a bit easier/faster than I do...those little cheap tablets could very well be all a person needs or wants. ...just not this old woman.

I like my Kindle Fire HD tablet which is primarily for reading books (lots of which are free, $1 or $2). I paid $99 for my Kindle a few years ago. Unlike tablets they get their money back with books. I handles CPAPtalk and most common news sites and most other sites okay... it uses the Silk browser. Typing on the screen sucks since it's only 9" diagonal but for short messages or whatever it's fine for me.. It's not real strong on loading email sites other than Yahoo but there are ways to get around that. There are also ways to 'side load' mobi extension books, but again there is a learning process.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I am an iPad person. I have discovered the refurbished products, from Apple. You get the full warranty but at a lower price. I also look just a bit after the new products come out! I really made sure I had plenty of memory when I bought my iPad Air, as I use graphic apps.

I did the flower (my image) in a program called Paper 53.

I think you're on to something here, Pugsy. A new treatment option for OSA?

I personally love my Androids ( 2nd gen. Nexus & Dell Venue). My daughter had an iPhone for years then she dropped it & the glass cracked. So I bought her the OnePlusOne phone last Christmas (I already had one). She LOVES it. The mere mention of an iphone, ipad,i anything is met with gagging wretching sounds. She says she doesn't miss the iPhone & certainly does not miss iTunes.

The Kindle Fire is my tablet also. Having this device saved me big time when I was going through computer withdrawal due to my needing a new computer.

Also, when I returned from vacation earlier this year, my computer (the one that eventually died) wouldn't boot up due to a mysterious error message. Unfortunately, since surfing on my blackberry is like watching black and white TV, being able to find the answer on the Silk Browser using the You Tube video saved me big time.

Yeah, and better for use at night to avoid excessive blue light.
