The "correlation" is that Sleep Apnea CAUSES much of the weight gain that many people experience. When your nightly breathing leaves you short of oxygen, it throws your metabolism out of whack.
Lots of us WERE of normal weight at various times in our lives before the long-term effects of SA manifested themselves.
Some people who have been overweight and lost weight using XPAP therapy required even HIGHER pressure levels.
YOU need to do some more reading from other sources. It's obvious that some of your present sources of information are flawed or prejudiced.
