How to fit mask in hose?

Post by Enchanter » Fri Jul 03, 2015 12:36 am

Just received a new full faced mask today from a member and am thankful. But I noticed it doesn't fit into my hose. The hose has a plastic attached to it and it's the same exact size as the plastic piece that's attached to the mask.

You may need an adaptor to fit the mask into the hose. If you post the mask model, maybe someone will be better help you.

The plastic piece that is in/on the end of the hose appears to be part of a different mask, Take it out and the hose will fit the new mask. Don't throw it away as it is part of your other mask.
Why do you have all that tape on the hose? Did it develop a leak and this is a fix?

do you have a round toothpick that can be lubricated and slipped between the plastic piece and the hose end?
It may be that the rubber hose end is just adhering to the plastic and needs a little encouragement to loosen it up.
I would try a little soap and water as a lubricant - something that can easily be rinsed off completely after they are separate. Otherwise, you'll need to get a new hose.

On the mask itself try just pressing on the sides of the adapter where the hose would attach and it should just pop right out (hopefully) and then you should be able to attach the hose. It looks some what like mine but that attachment piece is on my hose and not in my mask. Worth a try.

The one on the mask is part of the mask. It is the one in the hose that has to be wriggled out and saved with the other mask.

.
+1 Exactly. Grip the white end of the hose very tightly, Enchanter. With your other hand wiggle the clear plastic piece hard. You've got it jammed in there. You may need to insert a very small screw driver and , like JDS advised, drip some water downward along the screw driver and work it around.

...You've got it jammed in there. ...
I think I know how you broke your hose. There's no need to push the male piece of a mask that far into the end of the hose. Insert just enough to keep it from falling off. Easy does it. Don't force anything.
