OT: Medicare Advantage in Pueblo, CO?

Post by Robespierre » Sun May 31, 2015 1:20 pm

We will be moving to the Pueblo, CO, area in a few weeks. Does anyone have any recommendation for Medicare Advantage plans in that area?

Thanks

The first step is to go to Medicare. Gov and put in your information and preferences and check the list of options. Then find an honest insurance broker who specializes in Advantage Plans. Yes I know that is like finding an honest DME. I found one in Hemet California and he pointed me to a company (Humana) that wasn't even on my radar. That will save me over $2500 this year compared to staying where I was.
Every individual is different and every county is different so it is difficult to give more specific advice unless I lived in Pueblo and happened to be an exact clone of you physically and financially.

Saw some news recently that Humana is looking to get acquired. I've had a Humana drug plan for a couple of years now, so I'm concerned about this as well.

We'll see how this one goes.

They can't really change anything until the new year. My new best friend will keep me informed and knowing what was best in 2013 was irrelevant in 2015. So in 2016 we will start with fresh eyes.
Heck, with the Supreme Court looking at Ocare in June, everything about health care could be upside down in 2016.
