BMI is designed to calculate statistical averages for groups. It was never meant to be used by individuals.

Besides are you talking now or when we developed OSA - if we go to when I started snoring badly - I was underweight. When I was diagnosed I was normal. Currently I am overweight after 3 years of caregiving which has not affected the pressure i need.

I respond to requests, not demands from someone yelling at me, never mind the g-d exclamation marks! Your narcissism knows no bounds. And why is it 'important'? Because you say so?

I find this poll very telling and interesting. If more people respond, then even more interesting.

Respectfully, D4S

It is meaningless. Just what has anyones current BMI to do with anything.

A major problem with informal polls like this is that they have no statistical baseline because the poll is voluntary. Who knows what motivates any individual to respond, or not, to the poll. For example, if for some reason only high BMI individuals decide to respond, it will appear as though everyone has a high BMI. Conversely for example, if only low BMI people respond, then it will appear that only low BMI people have SA. So the final poll results really cannot be used for anything other than perhaps to test how many people respond to such polls.

Me? I chose not to respond to the poll. And I'm not telling you my BMI. Count me as one added view of the thread, but no response to the poll. Not sure what you can do with that.
I'm workin' on it.

So exactly what is telling and interesting in the thread?

You may as well ask people about their incomes, or sex life. What they tell you might be very interesting but you sure as hell shouldn't believe any it.
I'm workin' on it.

Well, apparently there are lots of over weight people. lol

Also, and I think a very high percentage, were over weight (high BMI) when therapy was started and are still over weight today.

Interesting thing - I used to be in the obese category 2 years ago but my OSA seems to have gotten worse when I got down into the average category and I am currently in the overweight slot and working on getting back down into the average range! I have two very fit brothers with OSA and 3 overweight/obese brothers with it, too. So OSA really doesn't care what weight you are!

Over 60% of people in the USA are obese/over weight so that is going to reflect in the poll anyway - no surprise there.
