well, I got curious one time about what it meant, since if you look at the back of both the humidifier and the flow generator, they both say "ipx1" or sometimes "ip01" so I did some googling and came up with:

it's not a cpap thing, you find ip codes on a lot of other equipment, just not so prominently placed after a brand name

I've got a sd card here that's supposed to be IP57 for instance. or a sony cybershot TF1 camera that's IP68
